I am the co 3-day Pre-K teachers here at Christ Lutheran School. I had my first start here as a substitute teacher in fall 2017. I feel blessed and am humbled to be in a school with such strong community and wonderful kids. Not only will I be the co Pre-K teacher for the 3-day program, but I will also be attending CNM to complete my Early Childhood endorsement.
I have worked very closely with other preschool teachers to reformulate the classroom content to focus on “active learning”. This encourages fundamentals such as alphabet, vocabulary and basic writing skills that will build a solid foundation that will prepare the children for kindergarten. My classroom philosophy is to maintain a good structure along with teaching the children in a reaffirming learning environment. We focus on character qualities such as respect, responsibility and caring.
I am fortunate with having had about 30 years of experience opportunities with youth in various capacities such as, a teacher’s aide, religious educator and numerous volunteer positions. I have been married to my husband Julian for 27 years and have four children ages 18-24. I spent the last 23 years as a full-time Mom. I was fortunate to have the opportunity to be at home as my children grew up. During this time, I have been a substitute teacher for both APS and private schools. In addition, I served as a Boy Scout leader as well as a Girl Scout leader for my children activities. I also served on several PTA boards as President and Vice-President. My hobbies include cooking, crafting, crocheting and reading. Unfortunately, I must also confess that I am also a Pinterest addict.
