6th Grade Homeroom Teacher – Science and Foreign Language
Hello! Mrs. Schroeder, here! As a pastor’s daughter and a military brat, I’ve learned that God causes us to be fruitful wherever He plants us and because of that- every place can grow to be a home. This will be my third year teaching at Christ Lutheran School and I am so excited to call this place my home and see what the Lord has in store for me and my middle schoolers this year.
I received my B.S. in Education in December 2016 from Concordia University, Nebraska. My focus was on middle through high school education with endorsements in Biology, Spanish, and credits towards my Lutheran Teacher’s Diploma (LTD). Upon graduating, I spent time as a long-term substitute in teaching sixth grade Reading and Language Arts. With my experiences and ideas, I have grown to fine tune and love all of my subjects and embrace my work with the Christ Lutheran family.
As a “science nerd,” I have enjoyed soaking in the field of science ever since I was a young girl. From the creative innovation of science fair projects, to the in-class discoveries of abstract topics, I have always been in favor of connecting the concepts and nitty-gritty details of the science world to the real world. By implementing the students’ interests and personalities, my hope is that they grow to love the limitless wonders of science!
The Land of Enchantment is also the perfect setting for hands-on learning and experience in foreign language. This year, I am looking forward to seeing the students branch out of their comfort zones in both language and perspective! Along with Spanish, CLS has added French and German to the language pot, and this will create an amazing opportunity for the kids to get a taste of 3 languages and cultures. I pray that the kids this year will become just as “enchanted” with these languages as I am!
I’m ready for a year of culture and inquiry, growth in the Lord, and all of the joys and adventures that come along with middle school!
