Isaiah 40:31 ~ but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not be faint.
I believe that is it very important to show God’s love and forgiveness to all students. No matter what we study, God’s word is a wonderful tool to enhance the learning process.
I enjoy having conversations with my students as we learn about history and characters in a novel. Asking questions as we learn is a great way to have students push themselves to understand the subject and to defend their thoughts. I love to teach beyond the textbooks which enhances the learning – using simulations, projects, and watching movies based on a novel or history lesson, where we can talk about the differences.
To watch students grow in their faith walk and educational journey is a reward beyond measure.
I graduated from Metropolitan State College of Denver, Colorado in 1998 with a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in History and a minor in Reading. I taught in Colorado until 2000, when I came to Christ Lutheran in Albuquerque. In 2001, I finished my theology courses to become a called teacher to the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod.
