I am very honored to be teaching Middle School Science here at Christ Lutheran this year! I have been a licensed teacher for 14 years, but I took some time off to raise my family. I was very eager to get back to the classroom, and I’m so blessed this opportunity fell into my lap. I was previously a middle school math and choir teacher with APS, and I have done various tutoring jobs and substitute teaching jobs as well over the years. I attended Sandia High School, and then received my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education at the University of New Mexico. I jumped straight into teaching after graduating college and taught for 7 years with over 150 students daily. I am really looking forward to these smaller class sizes where I can provide more individual learning experiences.
I love spending time with my family in my free time. My husband Matt and I have been married for 10 years, and we have two beautiful children who have attended/are currently attending preschool here at Christ Lutheran. Camilla is now 6 and in 1st grade, and Owen is 3 and in Mrs. Hayleigh’s class this year. I also love singing, and I am currently in a Barbershop Quartet where we go to other states for competitions. It’s a lot of fun! I also love puzzles, board games and just spending time with friends and family. I am so blessed to have this opportunity to teach at this amazing school, and I look forward to a great year!
